Rockabilly Vampire

The Troma Collection

Stomp Visual

R4 DVD

This low-budget horror-comedy from The Troma Collection deals with a young woman named Iris (Margaret Stevenson) who is obsessed with The King (Elvis). Her life resolves around Elvis memorabilia and her desire for Elvis to return and save her from her abysmal life. She is in deep depression because her book on Elvis has been rejected from every publisher she has contacted and her landlord's son is suggesting rather disgusting ways to pay her way overdue rent.

One day, Iris meets Eddie Vincent (Paul Stevenson), who not only looks and sounds like Elvis and he promises her a way to escape her banal life. However, there is quite a catch, Eddie is actually a vampire.

While Rockabilly Vampire has some moments which are amusing and there is some light romantic comedy as well as some cool music, on the whole it is fairly unappealing and doesn’t ever reach above the ordinary. It may be a fun watch on a rainy day when there is not much else to do, but otherwise there is little to recommend it.

Also includes a bonus lesbian film “Blond Fury”, extras include audio commentary, music interviews and clips from many bands whose music is used throughout the film and some hidden Troma extras!
