In the Nursery have taken their unique universal language of music and combined it with phonemic performances in Hispanic, French, Yugoslavian, Mayan and Japanese.

In the Nursery are based around the writing nucleus of twin brothers Klive and Nigel Humberstone, augmented for studio & live work by multi‑lingual vocalist Dolores Marguerite C. and military drummer/percussionist Q. Their musical history spans 15 years and has constantly expressed their desire for progress and experimentation. Their unique electronic works represent a blending of the symphonic with the modern, the ambient with the danceable and the acoustic with the synthetic.

Formed in 1981, their debut release When Cherished Dreams come True (1983) marked the beginning of a career that has produced over 200 recorded works encompassing landmark albums such as Twins(1986), L'sprit (1989), Sense (1991), Anatomy of a Poet (1993) and Deco (1996) ‑ albums which have both consolidated their distinctive sound whilst taking on board new influences.

The filmic nature of ITN's music is forever evident‑ an aspect utilised to great effect in An Ambush of (1993), their first feature film soundtrack and continued through their various TV and film commissions including 'Interview with The Vampire', 'The Sweet Hereafter', 'La Femme Nilkita'& 'The Rainmaker', as well as in their own Optical Music releases The Cabinet of Dr Calgari (1996) & Asaphalt (1997).

In the Nursery now operate through their own ITN Corporation label, allowing them greater artistic freedom and the opportunity to diversify as seen to great effect in their Les Jumeax side‑project releases Feathercut (1996) & Cobalt (1997).

Lingua is their latest release and offers an amazing experience of sound and texture, it is certainly not like ordinary music, it is like a wave of sound that sensually sweeps over the listener. It has many textures and many forms and takes the willing participant on a journey through sound.
