I Drink Your Blood is a classic seventies grindhouse spectacular. The film is a low budget orgy of sex, drugs and violence packaged in a seventies exploitation script. Originally given an XX rating in the US and banned in Australia, it has only been recently released uncut in Australia by Umbrella Entertainment.

A gang of satanic hippies with some similarities to the Manson family are moving across the country having wild parties and invoking Satan. They move into a small village after bashing and raping one of the local’s daughters. When her grandfather learns of what they have done to here he seeks retribution but ends up being attacked and then sent on a LSD trip !

His grandson, a rather annoying little brat, decides to take revenge by lacing the hippies meat pies with Rabies and the fun begins. Not only do we have rabid hippies, but the local redneck construction workers also get infected from a night of wild sex and the violence escalates.

Hippies, Satanism, sex, redneck construction workers, rabies and gore..what more do we need ?

The violence, blood and gore is pretty over the top but it is so B grade that it really becomes more of a guilty trash treasure.

The presentation is clear and surprisingly good for its age. Sure there is a bit of dirt and grain, but what do we expect from an underground film from the 70’s, the soundtrack is much the same.

There are lots of nice extras include commentaries, a series of interviews presented as the “I Drink Your Blood Show”, deleted scenes, an alternative ending, out-takes, a trailer, radio spot and gallery.
